The Alloy of Law by Brandon Sanderson

5.0

well, this was the most fun i've had going into a sanderson book. the worldbuilding was already established in the previous trilogy so we only had to be brought up to speed.

waxillium is a rugged grumpy sherif that has to go back to a life of aristocracy. wayne is the lovable sidekick, master of disguise, sunshine delight. i'd watch a comedy show about their time in the wilds.

❝ Most Allomancers didn't use whiskey in their metal vials. Most Allomancers were missing out on a perfect oppotunity. ❞

we get a good team with the two of them an marasi. her arc through this book was an interesting one. and I enjoyed the fact that we had less characters than in the first mistborn trilogy, we got to spend more time with the core gang.

❝ Wayne is a little attached to that hat. (...) He thinks it's lucky ❞
❝ It is lucky. I ain't never died while wearing that hat.❞

and my otp for that book is definitely wayne and his hat. a true love story.
