I hadn’t read any of Rushdie’s novels before reading this book, but I intend to now. His writing is so conversational; it feels like he’s chatting with you as you read. He address a lot of personal issues and philosophical questions with great candor. I especially found fascinating his attempts to understand the A and get inside his head. A fantastic read about a harrowing experience.
