Simone de Beauvoir can do very little wrong with her writing on my end of things, so I loved this weirdly short, indulgently personal novel. It was like reading Elena Ferrante and Edna O'Brien's diary entries as the same person except make it French and Marleau Ponty is a Catholic heartbreaker?
