This book is the reason I don't go blind into books anymore.

This was being recommended to me on Tiktok. TIKTOK. I don't know what the hell that says about my fyp but I bought into it. All I knew was that it was supposed to be sad.

Listen - this kind of story would be understandable if it was a biography. A grim story of someone's actual life, as I'm sure this has and does happen to people, but I'm not too sure what the author hoped to achieve with this. I didn't feel for the characters. I didn't connect with them. Didn't understand where they were coming from or sympathize with what they were going through. Maybe if the writing had been better, that might have been a different story.

But alas, the writing was poor, the characters were unrealistic and the dialogue, for the most part, was utter torture.
