The Politics Industry: How Political Innovation Can Break Partisan Gridlock and Save Our Democracy by Michael E. Porter, Katherine M. Gehl

4.0

Rather than sending new people to Washington to "drain the swamp" or "fix broken politics" this book argues that makes no difference. It is not the people that are at fault, it is the system that is responsible for the partison gridlock and deepening polarization. The solution, fix the system. That includes changing the way we elect our representatives that reduce the power of political parties. This is an important book that makes the case for ranked choice voting, open primaries and other reforms that really can help change the sytem that isn't working for u.
