To Sleep in a Sea of Stars by Christopher Paolini

3.0

This book is in a very different genre than what I usually read, but I've been wanting to start expanding my reading material to science fiction for a while.

I swing back and forth on this book. I didn't like it till I hit about the halfway point and then it started to grow on me. When I finished it, I really did enjoy reading it. It was a fun story that gave me a lot of Firefly vibes, so if you liked that TV show like me you probably will like this book.

I struggle with reading books written by men where the main characters female. Every now and then, a line just doesn't sound right for the character and the gender. This happened every now and again, but I still liked the story. There were a couple of times where something happened and then was never mentioned again. I don't know if that is because Paolini is planning on adding more books or if it just didn't matter later on.
