The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli

5.0

This book was so good!! I really could relate to Molly throughout the novel. The way Becky Albertalli does family dynamics is just amazing and I love it so much! The LGBT+ representation was blended in so well and it didn’t feel forced or gimmicky like it so often is. I also really like how weight was addressed in this. Molly is fat, but she’s a full person who isn’t just her weight. All the characters were just so lovely to read about and they were all so much fun to get to know! I also liked that Molly had realistic hobbies like making backing or doing Pinterest crafts and they were actually a big part of her life.
