The Flowers of Buffoonery by Osamu Dazai

3.0

mmmm boys being boys? to be completely honest i didnt love “no longer human” (also 3⭐️ to me and to which this serves as the prequel) but when this randomly showed up on the library app and was under 100 pages i figured sure. dazai did say it himself: “from the start this novel was doomed. all posture and no substance.” agreed! however, taking into account this was written in 1935, the witty musings on mental illness + the POV itself was pretty interesting. but overall just meh, rambly and occasionally entertaining
