Ifemelu's perspective is one I've never read before in fiction, and it's clear that Adichie writes from experience. The characters are complex, with a healthy mix of endearing and frustrating qualities. The ending felt disappointing yet representative of real life. Not quite as powerful as Adichie's other works in my opinion, but overall a great read.
