Joker: Killer Smile by Jeff Lemire

4.0

This is a beautiful, unnerving, and compelling story focusing on a young psychotherapist who wants to cure the Joker. You might have heard a story like this before, you might have guesses that it won't turn out well. But as a shrink myself, I love when we have the panels of their therapy (though in reality this is not how therapy works, but I'll be quiet for the sake of fiction). Of the all too dramatic narration and thought provoking lines. Of the brilliantly drawn and unsettling art both in the realistic and in the unnerving cartoonish style.

If it had of ended with Issue 2 this would have been a true 4 Star maybe even 5. But the second half of Issue 3 is a lot and I am not sure how I feel about it. I need a minute to think on how it ended, maybe too many twists to make the original storyline stand.
