Daisy Miller by Henry James
4.0

"I think you have made a mistake," said Winterbourne. "You should sometimes listen to a gentleman—the right one."

I read this as part of the Rory Gilmore challenge.

Henry James use of words like “Well!" ejaculated Miss Miller,” are sexual charged and read strangely but interestingly

Daisy Miller is a headstrong American women who wouldn’t be out of place nowadays. This book is interesting as a historical account. Daisy miller is modern women which makes her a very likable character. But the eras is drenched in misogyny and pre-globalisation isolationism.

Their is illness representation which was actually okay - the book describes her headaches as constant problem & one of the characters who asks “surely she doesn’t have a headache everyday” The book explains maybe not be the condition is relentless.
