Hangman by Daniel Cole

5.0

Hangman is the second book in the Fawkes and Baxter series. While I enjoyed this one, it didn't give me the same 'can't put it down' vibes that the first one delivered. I enjoyed the plot line and crimes which spanned multiple countries and focused mainly on Baxter, introducing new characters. Fawkes plays a very limited role in this one, but I understand he comes back for the third book. The expected gory crimes and mystery elements will keep you guessing. This one would appeal to fans of Chris Carter, Mo Hayder or Jeffrey Deaver. While the book can be enjoyed as standalone, I'd recommend reading the first one as it will make more sense and be more enjoyable. Perfect for fans of police procedural and gripping crime thrillers, this one would be a great addition to your TBR list.
