oh i kinda hated this! was disappointed cause what a cute premise, i love a road trip romcom. millie was the definition of annoying “quirky” fmc and i HATE IT. she kept talking about how her last boyfriend left her cause she’s just “so weird”. she makes a lot of bad jokes and listens to Fleetwood Mac. please give me a break. hollis is this supposedly brooding and selfish guy who is very clearly enamored with her the second he sees her and it is very Not Subtly covered up. the dialogue is so cringey i wanted to reach through the speakers and smack them. i also really hated that millie was this former child star and kept referencing her “fame”, it made her even more obnoxious and petulant. this just felt ultimately so formulaic. there was no chemistry, no spark, no real stakes.
