We've all had the relationships where the timing is off and things just don't make sense. Sometimes you both move on with your lives, and in some cases we get this. Laurie & Jack are officially the highlight of my 2020 reading year.
This was a delightful read - I'm starting to see that throwing in sweet love stories in the midst of my murder mysteries & other heavy reading is exactly what I need at times. I can count on one hand the number of times I have cried while reading / listening to a book, and this was one. I think the last time this happened was reading The Prince's Tale for the first time when I read The Deathly Hallows. This is high praise in my book. Stories that elicit emotional reactions are effective, and this one will stay with me for awhile. I'm so thrilled I read this, and I encourage anyone who enjoys romance to pick this one up.
