A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

4.0

Feyre has been forced to be a huntress for her family after they lost all their money and became poor. While out hunting, she comes across a huge wolf. She isn’t sure about killing it but knows that she can sell the pelt in town for some good money. As she is approaching she notices that it sees her and does nothing to defend itself. After killing the wolf and selling the pelt, her family is visited by a terrifying Fae demanding justice for his friend. Apparently, the wolf was a Fae shifter and Feyre broke the treaty between the humans and the Fae. She agrees to leave with Tamlin in exchange that her family isn’t killed. Will Feyre survive in the Fae realm and is Tamlin really as terrible as humans make the Fae out to be? This book has been on my TBR since I started on Bookstagram and I was worried about starting it. While I enjoyed the book it wasn’t anything super special. The ending is enough that it doesn’t have me reaching for the second one. The writing was beautiful and the story was intriguing. I just don’t think it is my type of book.
