One of the most unsettling books I’ve read in my short journey so far. Has a way of getting under your skin, to the point I still think of lines from it months after reading. At certain points seems to revel in the bloody horror a bit too much, but not to the point of being excessive. The character of Judge Holden is one to behold, as he takes a place in one of the greatest villains in fiction, not because of his horrible acts entirely, but because of why he does them, how he justifies them, and just the mystery of who he truly is.
