From Scratch: A Memoir of Love, Sicily, and Finding Home by Tembi Locke

3.0

While I thought the book was written beautifully, it was just SO SAD. The entire thing from start to finish was melancholy, and even the happy bits were tainted by it. I know the author probably intended it to be that way because that is what grief feels like, where even the good doesn't feel good- but I have enough of that in my life without immersing myself in it in fiction, too.
