Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder

4.0

I read this for a class, but was pleasantly surprised by just how much I loved it. Such a creative way to teach philosophy.

Some of my favorite quotes:
“Why did people quit playing when they grew up?”
Talking about Socrates: “We know for a certainty that he was extremely ugly.”

“Who said we don’t exist? The question is not whether we are, but what we are and who we are. Even if it turns out that we are merely impulses in the major’s dual personality, that need not take our little bit of existence away from us.”
