I watched the movie several years ago, but just now listened to the audiobook. Honestly a little disappointing, going in with the movie's expectations, but it was alright. Pretty decent thriller. I was getting kinda bored and tired of the alcoholism by halfway through, though.
Spoilers vaguely involving the climax/twist of the book (no names), but regarding mental illness:I'm sick and tired of psychopathy being treated like The Inherently Evil Person disorder. I was very disappointed when psychopathy was blamed for evil actions, and the character in question was treated very stereotypically Evil Psychopath. I won't get on my soapbox here, but essentially I don't think villains should be assigned personality disorders like that makes them inherently evil.
Spoilers vaguely involving the climax/twist of the book (no names), but regarding mental illness:

Moderate: Body shaming, Child death, Death, Fatphobia, Stalking
Minor: Adult/minor relationship, Animal cruelty, Cursing, Domestic abuse, Infidelity, Physical abuse, Sexual content, Suicidal thoughts, Violence, Blood, Police brutality, Schizophrenia/Psychosis
