Daughter of the Siren Queen by Tricia Levenseller

5.0

I highly recommend the Daughter of the Pirate King duology to all YA readers who love Pirates of the Caribbean. Daughter of the Siren Queen was a good finish to the series. While I do still have some unanswered questions, particularly pertaining to the relationship between Alosa’s father and mother, the author creates a strong story and is not afraid to write darker scenes. When I first started this series, I was afraid the author would would not right a true pirate book, with softening the harsh pirate life. The author did not do this and was not afraid to write ruthless characters emerged in a life of crime and death. The siren aspect of this story was gripping, but I do wish the author dived deeper into Alosa’s siren and it’s difference from other sirens. If the author wants to write an entire siren series, I would definitely pick that book up! I give the series 4.5 stars and recommend to many other readers who enjoy the ya genre!
