Christmas at Fox Farm by Helen Pollard

4.0

Daisy is an artist living for a year at Fox Farm, as an artist in residence.

For Farm is owned and run by Jean, an older woman, who loves to do pottery and crafts and has a cafe and gallery on her farm.

Her nephew Alex lives nearby on his own plot of land where he runs a nursery type place and other such gardening and plants endeavours.

Alex helps Jean on his days off. He feels he ‘owes’ his aunt Jean as she helped him a lot when he younger.

One morning Daisy goes to Jean’s house and finds Jean unresponsive, having suffered a major stroke. This resonated with me as my dad suffered a major stoke too. Alex takes on a lot of the day to day responsibility for running Fox Farm while Jean is in hospital recuperating.

Alex’s cousin, Sebastian, is a selfish greedy so and so, he wants to sell the farm out from Jean, and makes things quite hard for Alex and also Daisy who has been helping out and also falling for Alex.

Alex, Daisy and the other characters need to come up with a solution instead of selling Fox Farm and sending Jean to a aged carer’s home.

I really enjoyed this story.
