Awakening by Erik Schubach

So much potential here and yet it didn't quite reach it.

Overall, the idea of modern day dragons and magic is quite interesting and up to a point, it is an engaging read. Myra's transformation is nicely done (even though what her cup-size has to do with anything is beyond me, but apparantly it is important). The backstory of why the dragons disappeared and why they're emerging again is OK too.

But that fucking Irish accent. Was that really necessary? It may be cute when you hear it, but reading it is quite exhausting.

The acceptance that magic and dragons exist could have been entire novel on it's own, but apparently the whole world shrugs and we're OK with it. So much potential untouched there.

The supporting cast is a bit bland too. Again, widespread acceptance, even from scientists

If you can put that aside, it is a fun story.
