I finished the audiobook in 2 evenings and Bahni Turpin’s passionate voice is still ringing in my ears. I learned not exactly new things, but I learned why those things mattered and the explanation’s gave me new words to use when speaking about them. I remembered my own past discussions about race, my own prejudice, my own priviledge, my own experience and observations as a white woman/child, growing up in a mixed neighborhood and a profundly racist society.
