I think I got this one through Amazon First Reads and the premise really appealed. Whilst the storyline was enough to keep me engaged, it didn’t really pull me in and I have to say I didn’t really get invested in the characters.
What I did like was the dual timeline as you’re filling the investigation by FBI Lucy Thorne into the murder of young boy Noah, and the events and multiple viewpoints of characters involved in the story leading up to Noah’s death and beyond. I will say that I didn’t see the big reveal coming - good plotting by Labuskes, but sadly as mentioned before, I just wasn’t invested in the characters.
