The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon
by Stephen King
Unbelievable. This book is completely unbelievable. It’s ridiculous and dated and silly. I’m not sure if it was supposed to be scary or suspenseful but it really wasn’t much of either one. The style was simplistic and child like. The book reminded me of “The Grapes of Wrath” in that it offered up one awful event after another. It’s prose DID NOT remind of of Steinbeck, however, as it was written at eighth grade level. Stephen King is hit or miss and I’d classify this offering as a miss.
