The Boys Who Challenged Hitler: Knud Pedersen and the Churchill Club
by Phillip Hoose
The true story of a group of Danish teenagers who formed a group that specialized in sabotage against the Germans who began occupation of Denmark at the outset of World War II.
The story reads like the most thrilling fiction with the boys stealing military weapons, infuriating the Germans to the point where they were tracked down and hauled off to prison.
Numerous photos and firsthand accounts are included as well as an epilogue which reveals the fates of all involved. Back matter also includes a selected bibliography, articles, websites, recordings, notes, and an index.
Recommended for grades 6-8+.
