Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson
4.0

I had put off reading Steelheart for a while because many said it wasn't Sanderson's best work. And I agree with that, but just because I've enjoyed the Mistborn and Stormlight Archive series much more than this, I still throroughly enjoyed Steelheart.

This series is YA, and it's noticeable different from the other series I have read by this same author. The world building isn't as extensive but with that being said, it is a very well established world and well explained.

I found it a little predictable towards the end but still gripping, and the characters were easy to root for.

So while this is definitely not my favourite books by Sanderson, or even one of my favourite books, I still enjoyed it. I must admit that my significantly lowered expectations might have contributed to my enjoyment but eh.

I've already ordered the rest of this series (hopefully it remains a trilogy) so I'm excited to see where this story goes. At least I have some form of Sanderson to fill the void while waiting for Oathbringer.
