Where We Belong by J. Daniels
5.0

Ben and Mia are my favorite couple from the Alabama Summer Series.  Mia's innocence and straight-forwardness always drew me into her character.  And Ben.  Ben, Ben, Ben.  Ben was a single dad, and is a hot-as-hell cop with tattoos and a southern accent.  What's not to love, really?

"My mind loves Ben.  My heart loves ben.  My body loves Ben.  He's the warmth in my blood.  The roar in my pulse."

After getting married and having their own baby, their love is as strong as ever but they can't get their schedules synced to get their needs met.  This is reality for so many parents (myself included).  After failed hook-up attempts, secret plans involving Ben's police cruiser and finally some time alone thanks to Uncle Luke and Aunt Tessa, Ben and Mia get their much-needed alone time together.

"Since the beginning, what I feel for her goes deeper than marrow."

Where We Belong also perfectly leads right into CJ and Riley's story, What I Need (Alabama Summer Series #4).

"I can't help it.  You're in my blood, Mia.  You always were...even before."

There really isn't much I can say about Where We Belong besides the fact that it was absolutely perfect.  J. Daniels hit the mark with the difficulties of parenthood with two small kids.  Add in parents who are absolutely crazy about each other, who can't find time to be together, and you've got the recipe for real life.  I felt like crying at the end just because it was that good.  Love, lust, angst, tension and comedy are all part of J. Daniels recipe and we get it every bit of it in Where We Belong.
