I have mixed feelings about this book! First of all, people have described this as a retelling of The Holiday and I would say only in the loose sense that the main characters swap homes. Otherwise, the story stands on its own. Mostly, I enjoyed the storylines and the relationships. Insta-love is not my favorite trope but I understand that it’s part of the premise. My main issue, and it seems like a lot of us feel the same, is that Carys felt a little manic pixie dream girl and somehow also preachy when it came to communication. Not my favorite love interest I’ve read!
