S.T.A.G.S by M.A. Bennett

man. I really enjoyed this when I read it at 22 and did so slightly less this time around. will be reading on with the series however as it's all available to me on ebooks and I find the overall plot interesting. the author in the acknowledgements credits her son for "translating teen speak" and her partner (I think) for their "encyclopaedic film knowledge" pity those two aspects were kind of the worst part of the book. attempting to give Greer an authentic teenage voice really dated the book and she clearly reads like a made-up idea of what a film fan is actually like, extremely surface level and a bit maddening. these are my personal gripes — don't let them put you off. might just be a symptom of me finally aging out of YA at age 26, which can only be a good thing.
