This took longer than I thought to write LOL. However, we move!

The way I cannot express with enough words and praises for this book. I laughed, cried, hyperventilated through the entire journey. It starts off with Yasmin and Josiah running their restaurant Grits while co-parenting their two children. Even though they got divorced two years ago, they are able to interact with each other while living their own lives.

I loved how we get to be in Josiah and Yasmin’s head and understanding their past. Yasmin is such a strong character and unveiling her layers as a parent, daughter, mom, sister was so beautiful and heartbreaking to experience. Also, seeing things from Josiah’s POV was interesting in a way i wasn’t expecting. It was done very well and blew me away. THE SISTERHOOD BETWEEN HER BESTFRIENDS WAS EVERYTHING TO ME! It is easily one of my favorite parts of this book. It literally reminds me of the women I keep close to in my life. The mental health representation and dealing with grief was crafted beautifully and one of the best I’ve seen in such a long time.

Overall, literally one of my favorite books of 2024 and everyone should absolutely read it.
