Marvel Encyclopedia by Tom DeFalco
4.0
This book was brought for me as a Christmas present by my auntie who knows how much of a nerd I really am. I was curious about this book to see how much I actual knew about this world that I was so fascinating in and WOW this book put me to shame. I am what was known as a plastic fan who loved the films and the videos on YouTube and has maybe read like five of the comics.
Obviously this book was about all the characters no matter how big or small they played in this whole universe. There is more than 1,200 of marvels characters. The information will also tell you their first appearance and last appearance within the comics as well as where are from and their superpowers.
It is a guide for all the characters and the basic storyline along the way. My favourite thing about this book is the fact that they expanded pages for the main characters and dig deeper into their storyline such as Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man and Wolverine. The pages are illustrated beautifully and it’s very easy to read.
The size of the book is huge and can be hard to carry which is why when I read it I need to put it on the table and then lean over the table to read it but with the amount of detail I didn’t care how big it was (even if it doesn’t fit on bookshelf). However I really enjoyed this book and would recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in Marvel. I gave it a 4 star rating due to the amount of information and it is simplify to understand the main storyline but I would still recommend that you read the comics as well like I am starting to do now.
