reading this shortly after finishing The Autobiography of Malcolm X was perfect. highly recommend pairing these 2 novels, getting the perspective of Malcolm X and James Baldwin about Elijah Muhammad and the Nation of Islam, and each other

these essays are superior. the critical analysis of Christianity, of the white liberal, of the fallacy of integration - and much more. truly profound. i don’t know what else to say about a masterpiece
