From the moment TJR announced this book, I told myself I wasn't going to pick it up. Honestly, space intimidates me more than it interests me, and I knew I wouldn't be able to follow if the language was too technical.
But, of course, after seeing so many rave reviews, curiosity got the best of me and I knew I had to give it a chance. Though this isn't a new favourite, like so many of my peers in the book community have declared, I enjoyed it much more than I ever thought I would. I found that the first half of the book was slow, but the pacing picked up in the second half as new relationships were introduced and I found I enjoyed it much more from that point on. I had no idea the book was sapphic and thought that relationship was portrayed well. Barbara and Daniel are terrible parents, but Vanessa and Joan were great. Can't wait to see what TJR comes up with next!
