The Darkness Outside Us by Eliot Schrefer

5.0

This was a breathtaking novel. The concept alone is innovative and, at least for me, was completely unexpected. I felt love, tenderness, fear, concern, and terror for Ambrose and Kodiak individually and as partners. I am thoroughly grateful to Eliot Schrefer for writing this delicate and enduring story. If you love sci-fi, thriller, and romance wrapped in an epic (to say the least) tale that asks difficult and needed questions about what it means to be human, what do we want for our species now and into the future, and what it means to start building a life from literal scratch in a completely new environment.
