I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy

5.0

The things Jennette survived are truly nerve wracking. It’s interesting how relatable this book is to me as someone else who has suffered parental abuse. Even the parts I couldn’t relate to I read with immense empathy because I could she myself in those situations with just a change of circumstances. My form of abuse is completely different from Jennette’s but the emotions felt coming out of that abuse as an adult and after the death of that parent ring all to true for me. I know this book will be healing for so many people. Once the shock and aw fades I know this book will stand as a testament of healing.
