I didn’t want to stop reading. I thought about it at work and just wanted to get back to reading all day.
The story itself isn’t the most unique thing ever, but still is good. I could see exactly where this was going from reading the book description, but it doesn’t make it any less good. It is a classic mix of the roommates and fake dating tropes done really well.
I love the writing in how this is a book that really feels like a movie and jumps off the page. Super easy to get drawn in and kept me reading. Emily Henry just has the most beautiful way of explaining things and describing feelings. It’s like she is able to describe the feeling of every insecurity or thought and nails it every time. The book was legitimately funny at moments and felt like a true rom com when nowadays “rom com” gets thrown around so easily as a descriptor for tons of romance books.
Miles and Daphne are great main characters! They felt like realistic real people in a situation that could actually happen. The way they became friends slowly and helped each other get over their breakups!!!! I loved every second of their story.
