this is not a book for everyone, but for those it’s for, it’s perfection. percy reminded me of the girl i once was, an unapologetic intellectual elitist and, simultaneously, a deeply self-conscious ex-loser just trying to fit in. i also had my version of joe morrow, though our story ended quite a bit differently — but i loved theirs and wouldn’t have changed a thing about the way it was told. there were times when percy drove me crazy… and yet, i also understood her behavior, because i made such similar mistakes. if you love music, have nostalgia for the early 2000’s, and/or ever considered yourself a hipster, this one’s for you.
