The Hour of the Star by Clarice Lispector

4.0

Reading this book is like unusually paying attention to something on the margin, something that is put aside; how it feels to be seen as insignificant, how bad life can throw at you. The Hour of the Star is also particularly special because I’ve never stumbled upon a book with such technical oddity. I’d never imagined myself plunging into a small lake of thoughts, something sort of pensée of someone battling against writing frustration. Simply one of my greatest discoveries this year.
