Blindside Beauty by Lex Martin
5.0

Blindside Beauty is a beautiful and heartfelt conclusion to the Varsity Dads series by Lex Martin, where the hopelessly nerdy girl finally gets the guy. But it’s so much more than that. With a perfect blend of heartfelt moments, humorous circumstances, and spicy interactions, this book is both satisfying and emotional.

From the first Martin book I got my hands on—Shameless, IYKYK—untll now, nearly eight years later, I’ve been deeply invested in the characters and worlds that Lex Martin creates. Whether you’re in the mood for an angsty, emotionally charged romance, a sports romance or even rom-coms, Martin continues to be one of my go-to authors. She crafts wonderful characters and clever plots, and I’ve yet to encounter a book of hers that I wouldn’t recommend wholeheartedly.

In Blindside Beauty, Martin showcases her talent with an engaging storyline rich in romance, humor, and emotional depth. The dynamic between Abigail (Abby) and Nick is fantastic; their initial encounters are awkward and revealing, setting the stage for a poignant exploration of love and healing. Nick, a devoted young single father, juggles the demands of parenthood and his NFL ambitions while grappling with the grief of losing his girlfriend. Abigail, with her kind heart and shy demeanor, unexpectedly becomes entwined in their lives, showcasing her strength and resilience. Their relationship evolves beautifully, moving from tension to a tender connection, filled with laughter and genuine emotion. And let’s not forget little Hazel—she’s so adorable that it makes me want more kids (kidding, mostly!
