ayacchi 's review for:
Treasure Island
by Robert Louis Stevenson
Finally the time has come for me to read this book, no more deferment.
It'd be nice if I could read the translation version, because the problem with classic is you can't grasp what the author written 100%. Besides, there's gentlemen of fortune's way of speaking. So, while reading and listening the audiobook, I had to reread several parts to understand the story fully.
Pirates isn't my great thing (well, I've no interest in so many things), and reading this book is like going back to school and you were forced to read a book for assignment. But the more I read, the more it became bearable.
As Mr. Henley mentioned in the afterword, I have to agree that at the end of the day, it was not Treasure Island that dwelling on my mind, but a character named John Silver. I don't know if it can be called a character development, for his intention is kinda ambiguous, but I'd like to learn more about him.
