i must preface by saying i am an adult and i did not willingly choose to read this book. my little brother, Caleb (10), insisted he read this to me because he remembered it fondly. for him, it did not disappoint! Needless to say, he loved it.

this book wasn’t offensive or anything, but it wasn’t anything special. it’s not narratively challenging or anything particularly memorable. i did appreciate that one of Walter’s farts was so strong it flew someone’s dessert into their face. that was disgusting and it borderline felt like it was going too far, and i love it for that. i don’t like fart jokes though, i think they’re just too easy.

Walter The Farting Dog: Banned From The Beach doesn’t willingly make itself about loving others regardless of unsavory medical conditions, it’s just about a gross farting dog so i can’t really love it or applaud it for that… it’s just a basic children’s story book, but it’s goofy :’)
