The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
2.0

I had a real issue with this book. The first 20-30 pages were fantastic, literal page turning stuff. Then the awful similes and metaphors. It nosedived for 150 pages or so after that. I was so close to putting it down, so many times. The story didn’t keep me going, my reading goal did. It gets better towards the end but never enough to repair the damage already done. Would have been one star but the start of the book brought it back. Don’t bother.
