Call You Mine by Claudia Burgoa

5.0

"Call You Mine" by Claudia Burgoa featured a well-crafted friends-to-lovers romance between the youngest Aldridge brother, rock star Beacon, and his best friend, talented cellist Grace Bradley. Beacon and Grace were super cute together with all of their inside jokes and teasing banter, but they had a number of issues to work through before they could be together. The biggest challenge they faced was a secret Beacon had been keeping from Grace since they left for college. While keeping the secret wasn't entirely Beacon's decision, he still had quite a bit of groveling to do before Grace forgave him.

Since the beginning of the series, it's been pretty clear that Beacon's been keeping secrets from his brothers too, and I was excited to finally learn what those were. I never could have predicted the truth about his mysterious side gig, however! I loved the touch of suspense it brought to this story, as well as the way Beacon was finally forced to deal with his trust and abandonment issues when his brothers found out the truth. The Aldridge brothers are finally becoming a real family, and with each story, we gather a few more clues about why their estranged father wanted all of them together in Baker's Creek so badly that he came up with the crazy stipulations in his will.

Overall, "Call You Mine" was nothing like what I expected it to be, but I loved it. I highly recommend this story for fans of contemporary romance, romantic comedy, and even light romantic suspense. I'm more excited for the last two books of the series than ever! (I hope we'll see Grace's brother Seth and the guys from Beacon's band again at some point too. They need their own stories!)
