Velvet Was the Night by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

4.0

What drug does Silvia Moreno-Garcia put into her writing that makes it so addicting? Every novel is exciting in its own way, and Velvet Was the Night is, of course, no exception. Though at first I was not a huge fan of the female protagonist, Maite, she grew on me eventually and I became heavily invested in both her's and Elvis' stories (and how they connect together). While this not my favorite of Moreno-Garcia's (that space in my heart is reserved for Mexican Gothic), I highly recommend Velvet Was the Night!
