Disney Princess Aladdin: A Whole New World by Liz Braswell
2.0
The 2nd Twisted Tale Novel I have read, the first being 'Set in Stone'.
'A Whole New World' retells the story of Aladdin and poses the question "What if Aladdin never found the lamp?" - I will try to be as spoiler free as I can with this review, there are however things I should mention as to why I didn't feel this story was anywhere near as enjoyable as the other Twisted Tale Novel I read...
So effectively the main plot point of this story is that Aladdin goes into the Cave of Wonders and retrieves the lamp, like normal, but actually does give the lamp to Jafar this time. Aladdin ends up trapped in the Cave of Wonders and Jafar, with the genie lamp in his possession, then overthrows the Sultan and becomes the leader of Agrabah....My first issue here being, how has anything really changed from the original text if both of these scenarios occur?
