Dragon Wing by Tracy Hickman, Margaret Weis
5.0
The Death Gate Cycle is definitely high on my list of favourite books. I've read these books a few times over and always enjoy them.
The first book is the world of Air. You are introduced to a race called Gegs (which are really dwarfes), whose whole lives revolve around the care of a massive machine called the kicksey winsey in which they also live. You are introduced to an Assassin and a mysterious stranger who hides his hands in bandages, underneath which his skin glows blue with strange markings.
Initially the book did take a while to get into, as the author takes care in building the world and characters, but be persistent, as it is worth it. If you are a lover of fantasy genre, then I highly recommend the Death Gate Cycle.
