War of Hearts by S. Young, Samantha Young

3.0

I loved the plot of this book. The enemies to lovers is my favorite. I was really into it the first 40% of the book. The complicated dynamic of Conall hunting Thea down, and Thea trying to escape was really fun. Until it became a little monotonous. I found myself ready for something new to be thrown in. The couple traveled for the majority of this book and that is something I do not like. I get bored when characters are constantly on the move. They also only had each other to really interact with. It made the plot a wee bit boring.

I did enjoy the mystery of what is Thea. I wish she had felt more confident in using her powers. I was itching to see her kick serious butt, but she never really did. She was always so nervous to release them and then she lost them.

I'm glad Thea got to kill oh what's his bucket. I'm also seriously glad she turned into a werewolf. Though that whole scene really made me mad. Thea is bit and dying. Conall instead of sitting in the backseat with her, to you know stroke her hair, whisper sweet nothings, hold while she possibly dies, he drives the car. Then doesn't look back for almost an hour to see if she's still alive!!! Like what the fucking hell is that??? I was so angry.

This book wasn't terrible. It was just WAY too long. I was itching for it to be done. There was too much plot crammed into the last like 100 pages. Maybe it could've been better as a duology? Or if the majority of the book wasn't them just running around? I don't know. But something about it just didn't sit right.
