Was your favorite movie growing up "You've Got Mail" or any of the prior iterations? Then this book is for YOU!
TW: Stalking
I was hesitant after I saw that stalking was a trigger warning. I had to DNF one book because it was too much and too creepy. However, this book does this in a way that it's more palatable.
This author is quickly becoming my favorite. I am devouring all of her books right now. She writes how my brain functions and I feel like I could be one of the characters. Perhaps it is because the author is also neurodivergent so I'm vibing with her vibes. I mean, Star Wars references AND a Mrs. Doubtfire reference!? Girl, you get me!
Our FMC has a chronic illness (love that representation), but she is capable and confident and also able to ask for help when she needs it. I love when this is the characterization, versus her having a chronic illness and being superwoman somehow. It makes it more relatable and more realistic.
The MMC has PTSD and TRAUMA that need to be worked through severely. He's well-read and educated and has "a particular set of skills" when necessary.
The side characters are all humorous and loveable. The town as a whole is an interesting group of people with their own petty politics and small-town drama.
The twist at the end was shocking and I gasped along with everyone else.
A 10/10 read!
