Passenger by Alexandra Bracken

4.0

Time travel is always complicated, but somehow Bracken managed to offer her readers a version that was not hard to understand and that didn't completely convolute the timeline of the novel.

I really enjoyed Passenger, even if it did feel at times extremely cliche. I would have liked more if the story could have slowed down rather than being at breakneck speed the whole time, but at 580 (digitally anyway) pages, the novel was already pretty long. I also felt that the main character fell somewhat short. She was not particularly flawed which means that I did not find her particularly interesting either.

I did enjoy Bracken's descriptive writing of the setting- I felt as if I was truly there. I'd be interested in reading the sequel and other books by the same author.
